where there was once nothing

Firefly could easily ignore the small puppy but it seemed the longer the conversation was drawn out the quicker the small fry lost interest in the words of the two adults and he seemed to make his own exit when his own packmate made a comment on getting the boy to do some actual work and clean up after the creature's droppings. She wrinkled her nose at the idea and silently was glad that she did not belong to this strange strange pack, or tribe.. whatever they might be. Her emerald eyes found those of the male as she smiled wickedly while the pup hightailed it out of the field as quickly as possible. She chuckled softly as her smile dropped into a simpler one as she spoke up. "I'm Firefly Sadira, from Dahlia de Mai.." she ran her nails through the thick snow as she glanced about the little bit of hard work the male had been stuck doing.

She really didn't want to make any comments on how having such creatures really didn't seem worth it, he'd already pushed aside those thoughts she'd already graced him with and he seemed so interested in keeping the dumb brutes that she could only help him along since she'd already mentioned Phoenix Valley and it's horrible collection of dimwitted pets. She smiled slightly at one of those dim beasts as she gave the information the red male was interested in. "Phoenix Valley, they live north east of here along the beach.. past the human city." She turned in the direction of the packlands in the distance as she continued on. "You can't miss them, they're the only pack along that coast." She grinned at the idea of how her family would react to knowing Firefly had pointed the male in their dirrection.

Who in their right mind would think that Firefly actually might be up to a good deed or two.. of course she was hoping that Phoenix Valley would give them too much hay and the pathedic excuse for a pack would have to get off their rumps and work some like the rest of the packs in the territory. She knew she was being unfair, the pack had done their work in the sweltering heat while the others had lounged about.. now they could stay huddled up in the cold weather while the rest of the world had to hunt and gather to keep their way of life alive. She shook her head slightly at the thought before asking the male, "Sooo.. who are you anyways, and this pack?"
