beauty in the breaking

Zana watched as another came to join them, she lowered her small frame to the ground as she watched the father and son speaking, the small glances stolen her way made her worry that she'd done something wrong and yet when the bigger male came closer his voice was light of tone, no harsh growls and grumbles like the monster in the cottage. She flicked her ears back as she stared down at her paws and whispered softly. "S'ana jus wants to bewlong. Dabi says must wook like da.. no looks.." she shivered as she whispered desperately. "no wooks wike monstwer.." and it was true, she looked nothing like her mother in frame, coloration or even eye color.. She could look more like her father in time, while she was more of a reddish gold than he ever was she still carried the same black patches and creamy hued underbelly.

She stared down at her paws, bespeckled with black flecks thoughout her fur, she'd always liked the spots but she didn't really have anyone to announce such silly notions to, instead she just kept those thoughts to herself and had talked to her imaginary friend about all her little cares and worries, atleast he understood her. She just hoped that the large golden eyed male infront of her now would understand too. She looked back up to him and said softly, "S'ana wants to stays." She glanced towards Zeke, afraid that he was going to leave if she didn't keep an eye on him, she didn't know this male before her, though he said that he was Zeke's father. She guessed she could trust him for now.. he was going to let her stay, right.. Isn't that what he was asking her for. She was growing confused but she didn't want to ask just yet.
