She watched him timidly dip his toes into the water, seeming quite unsure of himself, and followed, staying close behind. Of course, she didn't doubt that he would be alright swimming, but he did have a slightly lame paw, and being nervous wouldn't help the situation at all.

If you got swept away there, you never came back. She could certainly understand his caution. "I don't know. Maybe you should build one sometime." Actually, it didn't sound like a bad idea, when she thought about it.
