Out of the white, early morning landscape, he had hardly thought about seeing some sort of mirror image of himself come walking up through the hills. Though they did have their differences, from a distance one may have thought that two dark-haired wolves were related in some sense. Like Valentine, the approaching stranger was tall and broad-shouldered, giving away his gender much quicker than smell could. From the necklace to the tattoo and the sharp blue eyes, his friendly expression was well returned by Valentine, who slowed to greet him as well.

“Good morning to you,” he replied, a lax grin spread across his square muzzle, “I'm Valentine.” Now that the general introductions were out of the way, either one of them could have easily pressed on to conversation, which Valentine had no problem in taking the initiative. “Some crazy snow we had yesterday, wasn't it? The way the wind was blowing out there, it made it seem more like a blizzard!” Luckily for them though, it hadn't been quite that bad. The worst that could have happened was they'd get snowed in a cave for the night, but it was doubtful it would have been any longer than that, since they did have claws. And claws were exceptionally good for digging.
