on thin ice(P)

So sorry for the wait, and this post is horrible. 700+

He knew he was wicked, but this was a situation without consequences for the chocolate hued male. He had seen people dying, by his own hand and whatever not. He enjoyed watching them disappear from the surface of the earth. He had never watched anyone drown before though, and he found the dramatic struggle for life intriguing. His hackles rose quickly as he imagined himself in her position, water flowing everywhere, dragging him down and shutting out the light. The hungry look on his face changed into surprise as the wolfess' gaze met his for a brief moment before her head disappeared under the strong stream. He stalked a few steps closer in a mild desperation to see the female body disappear fully following the living river under the ice.

Even though this was something he ached to see happen, he was not entirely sure if this was something he should let pass. Although he cared little for the other packs, some positive criticism would be welcomed of Dahlia de Mai. He had ruined quite a bit of his pack's reputation in the Dahlia versus Inferni war by his random killing and his way of doing it. Maybe Haku the Hero was better than Haku the Villain. Either way was fine by him, because he was pathetically free of worries when it came to other packs and creatures outside of Dahlia. That was what kept him back, and the eye contact had made his fur rise, done something to him. He assumed it was too late by the time her face appeared again above the ice cold water, and his surprise was big when a sprout of water was sent in his direction and almost hit him straight in the face.

Of all things, she had chosen this to be her final act in life. Spitting at Haku. His body moved swiftly towards where the gray female was disappearing. This should only have strengthened his choice to stay as a mere death watcher, but Haku did not function like normal beings. He cursed his own form, the simple four legged wolf form. He snapped at the empty surface and raced along with the river while attempting to make an impossibly quick shapeshift. He kicked off and went through the ice himself when he landed. He gasped at the sick temperature and went under the surface. He turned around in the water and forced his eyes open as he searched for the canine that was bound to drift towards him. He was almost as good as blind, but after a few moments, a dark shadow drifted towards him. He was only halfway through his full shift (after years of active practice of shifting, this was one of his strongest skills in Haku's opinion), so he blindly grabbed a piece of fur with his over sized jaws and struggled towards the spot where he had gone through himself.

He cursed himself for his own actions, but managed to keep a clear mind as he struggled to reach the surface with the heavy heap of wolf. He reached the surface and let air flow through his nostrils. It burned like fire. He clawed at the ice with half finished claws. With halfling strength he was stronger than she had been he shattered the icy surface in the direction of the shore. His body would soon take in the full ice cold temperature when he ran empty for adrenaline. When he finally felt something solid under his feet, his mind relaxed slightly, and his form was closer to full werewolf. His jaws ached, and he grapped the limb female and pushed her up from the water when he was unable to break through the ice any longer. He dragged his own tired body out of the icy river and crawled to proper soil, and dragged the female with him. When they both were a few feet away from the mostly iced river he turned to the female, wondering if she was dead and if not, then how much water had been swallowed. He placed both hands on the Crimson Dreams female's chest and pushed down hard, hoping he would be granted any reaction at all.
