Alarice had awoken rather early, using the torches lining the cavern walls to guide her way towards the central cavern of the packs great den. It seemed quiet for now, Alarice having been unsure of who was still asleep in the Kail's shared family quarters. Deciding it best to leave quietly as to not disturb any of her family who was still sleeping she had got it in her mind to start up a fire in the central cavern to better warm it up for those who would soon be stirring and coming out of their rooms to perhaps eat or socialize. The fast fading embers of a fire made late the night before casted an eerie glow in the cavern, reflecting off of the huge quartz rock near the alphas den and sending an array of colors against the closest opposing wall. A green and blue eye followed these mesmerizing colors until they spotted the small entrance to the store room where Alarice would hopefully find enough fire wood to start up another fire. When she approached she found an abundant supply of dry wood, and returned with her arms full to the dying embers. Sitting down she placed them gently in the middle of the stone outcropping, and added a few twigs and other materials to catch a spark, blowing gently near the center until a small flame started to engulf the surrounding wood, and slowly grow.
Realizing that she wouldn't have enough to keep the fire fed she quickly rose and made her way back to the store rooms entrance, rushing to get an armful before turning sharply to head quickly back over to the fire she was attempting to keep going. In her rush Alarice dropped a couple pieces of wood to the sandy floor, where they offered a few muffled sounds that seemed to echo off of the walls. Swearing under her breath Alarice's brows knitted into a frown as she kneeled to pick up the fallen wood, taking a look around as she did so, hoping she had not disturbed anyones slumber.
