OOC: 300+

Brooklyn had been asleep in one of the upstairs rooms. It was a quick nap, enough for her to start dreaming about chasing butterflies around the mansion in the warm spring air. She'd never actually seen the lands in spring, but the adults had spoken so much about them, she could imagine the crispy grass beneath her paws, the smell of the flowers and the way the sunbeams would reflect in the lake, bright and warm. Twitching slightly, the white pup whined softly in her sleep. She really wanted that butterfly! It was such a pretty one, too, with so many colours she couldn't even begin to name. Naniko and Anu would surely love something like that, and she could say it was something from her to her mommies. She wasn't able to hunt properly yet, so anything she could bring back would make her that much happier. In her dream, Brooklyn pounced the butterfly, catching it under her paws, only to try and have a look and wake up.

It wasn't spring at all. It was still dreary, cold winter and it wouldn't be like in her dreams for a few more months. Sighing, Brooklyn got up and stretched. It had been a very nice dream, one she would relive in her mind a few times before something new caught her attention. Today it seemed it was music. She trotted to the door and peered outside into the hallways. Whoever was playing must have been good. Not that Brooklyn could tell, but they sure sounded enthusiastic about it. That meant that they were good at what they were doing. Otherwise why try? Stretching one last time, she started going downstairs, trying to find the origin of the sound. Here, the cold was biting, making her almost wish she were back upstairs, cosily curled up and dreaming of sunshine and butterflies.

Brooklyn wagged her tail when she saw who the mystery singer had been. Her Grandma! She liked her grandma, even though lately she'd been away. Had she been on an adventure? Maybe if she asked nicely enough they'd tell her. Then she could go and tell her brother! Haven would love to hear about it, especially if it had dragons in it. Come to think of it, even Brooklyn would love a story about how her grandma had fought monsters away from the borders. Naniko and Anu might be in it too! Savina would be a brave fighter, Brooklyn had decided. All the girls in the pack were. Walking outside, she sniffed at the papers that her grandma seemed to be busy with before lying down on the porch. Hello gramma. What'cha doin? I heard yous playing the music and it was really nice. I missed you. Where you been? Her questions were spoken in one breath, the white pup excited and eager to hear all about it.
