Garnet looked up at the setting sun, watching the bright yellows turn orange and then deep red. The color of blood just barely touched the tree-tops and reflected in her gore hued eyes. The coyote absentmindedly placed a hand over her stomach, sighing softly. She had reason to believe that she was pregnant. The signs were there; the early sickness, the hunger, the now noticeable baby-bump. A soft smile came to her lips as she thought about Jazper and his child that she now carried. The black lady stood up, brushing some of the snow from her coat. Would giving birth hurt? Garnet had heard about others who had had pups, but she had never witnessed one. She might have if only her mother, Asphyxia, hadn’t disappeared. Another sigh formed vapor in the cold air as she walked back towards the mansion. The only really bad thing she found, so far, with the pregnancy was that she could no longer shift into her lupus form. All in all, the coyote was still, in a way, a country girl. She liked Jaz enough to share his bed, but that didn’t mean she liked to sleep in beds in general. Even though it was cold, the outdoors, the forest always called to her.

Garnet looked up, suddenly noticing movement against the snow. The wet flakes drifted down on another she-wolf who was plodding along with some sort of bag. Red eyes flashed with curiosity as the coyote began to walk towards the other, calling out. ”Hey! Nice weather we’re having, eh?” A smile came to her face as she moved closer and recognized the other as Soran, a she-wolf who had the same rank as her.
