There was something unbelievably soothing about the cemetery at night, no matter how morbid most people considered it to be. Alexey had spent a good part of her evening there, perched upon a tombstone near the angel where the Lillium had recently buried his youngest daughter. Moonlight illuminated the night, providing guidance and comfort to whoever needed it. Sleeping was impossible now that the children had gone missing. It wasn’t like Lexey to pray but tonight she did, knowing it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try. Everything was going wrong as of late; she’d gotten into an argument with both Haku and Adelaida, and now she had to deal with the disappearance of her two youngest friends.
Life sucked. Sighing, Alexey turned her gaze toward the small house she shared with her best friend. Kol was fast asleep from what she knew. The Caregiver had been avoiding everyone as of late, including the ebony Stormbringer femme. She loved Kol with all her heart and that’s the main reason why she kept her distance. Alexey did not want her roommate to be a victim of her grumpy attitude as of late.
Someone was coming down the road. Recognizing her brother’s silhouette definitely wasn’t a hard task, but what was he doing out this late? Eyes of amber watched him intently for a moment, her body unmoving. Perhaps he wouldn’t notice her if she kept quiet, that would be nice. Alexey was sick and tired of arguing with everyone, there was no strength left in her to debate with him. He had probably gotten wind of her little fight with Ade on the beach and he more than likely wanted an explanation. She had none to give him. The Koios girl did the only thing she could do at this point: she held her breath and waited to see if her brother would notice her.
