It was not <3, 500+

Noir was not fond of walking too far away from the family den, but she had found another den that she believed belonged to a monster. She had taken a quick look inside earlier today, but the monster had not been there. The fact that the den smelled a bit like one of mommy’s friends did not automatically reveal that it was mommy’s friend’s home. Now, little Noir had slowly made her way back to the newly discovered den to see if any monster was home this time. Everyone said that monsters were dangerous, but she had never seen one. Claudius could be nice, Attila could be mean. So, if there were nice and mean siblings, surely there could be both nice and mean monsters? Maybe she would meet a nice monster and it could play with her. Though, to be sure she would be safe she had of course decided to bring Toefur with her this time. Her tail wagged slowly from side to side, but the small girl was slightly anxious as well. She was almost at the mouth of the den when her fluffy tan ears caught sounds from inside the den. She almost panicked, and ran away from the open space where she would be all too visible if the monster decided to come out and eat her. Toefur landed with a small thump, but the child did not dare to pick him up. Toefur would have to take care of himself for a little while, because the monster was home and it would eat both Toefur and Noir!

The monster called out a ‘hello’. It was of course all a game. This was Ember’s home, but it did not make the monster story less frightening right here and now. She moved her body over to the side of the den, barely out of sight. If monster Ember was to stick her face out of her home, she would see the lonely Toefur staring at her. If the monster could scare Noir, then Noir could scare the monster back! She bared her little fangs while she attempted to create a scary face, but her face was usually just a big grin, so her expression was nothing but a twisted grimace with a large smile inserted in the lower middle part of her face. It was good enough for her. She hesitated a moment before she darted into the den. The light brown child ran as fast as her little feet could carry her, and jumped at the ebony woman’s feet. ”Arawrarawra!”, the little child yelled. Her still unchanged baby blue eyes rose up to the adult’s face, checking if Ember was scared. Noir took a round around Ember’s feet before she ran out the same way that she had come, returning to her hiding place right beside the den entrance once again. Noir laid down and placed her small brown paws over her eyes, hiding from Monster-Ember. If Noir could not see herself, then surely nobody else could either.
