The little girl had been tearing at the bag for most of the morning, and now it looked like she was finally getting somewhere. She had taken to sleeping on the bag of flour when she wasn't sleeping with Jefferson (he was often gone, and she took many naps) but one afternoon she had felt something peculiar beneath her side. A big old lump. Ever since then she'd been able to feel it digging into her whenever she tried to sleep. Today she was determined to get the lump out.

When her paws hit flour she knew she was onto something. It took a bit of digging and a lot of sneezing, but she could see what had caused the lump. There was a big metal scoop buried partway into the bag, and the handle was sticking up out of the flour. She grabbed it with two paws, trying to yank it out. Addison had to take several different positions before she pulled the scoop out, and it clattered along the kitchen floor behind her. The pup rolled off of the bag in a puff of flour and jumped to her feet, tail wagging back and forth quickly. She got it out!!

She was heading for the scoop when she heard the howl. It was a strange sound--she had only heard Jefferson howl once or twice, but this howl didn't sound like his at all. Who's was it? It gave her a certain feeling--like a command. She should go out and see who it was! The blue and yellow eyed pup started for the border, trailing a cloud of white powder behind her. Who was it?! She had to know. Addi approached the other female quickly, leaping out from the brush. "Haiiiiiiyahhhh!" She shouted. "Whatchoo doing out here, youuuu? Dis is mah land and I's protectin it from da likes of yew!"
