For some reason, things hadn't worked out this time either. Naniko wasn't sure what it was, if it was something that she had done or something that Anu had done, but their relationship had fallen apart. She wasn't normally a very opinionated wolf, but Anu hadn't had any reason to yell at her for the day that she had met Conri outside of Halifax with Mati and Haven. It had been a complete accident. And yes, the pups had been a little frightened when they had come home...but Conri was someone who she had wanted them to know. Conri had been good, to her knowledge. He'd stayed away, had let them grow up without trying to kidnap them or interfere as she had once feared he might. The little ones were nearly grown now, nearly in adult ranks. It was their choice now.
The Commander hadn't been out to this area in a while. Her search for herbs sent her far and wide, and there were certain plants that only grew in this territory. Her canvas backpack rested on her back, her hair held back in its usual, plain white braid.
A voice made her stop and turn, emerald eyes wide. She hadn't heard a thing up until now, nothing except for the normal sound of the woods. But someone was nearby. She approached slowly, peering through the brush, her eyes widening even more. Was she seeing things? "I--eh." She started. "You look like you could use some help."
