The dark female’s howl for assistance hadn’t gone unheard. It felt as if she could’ve heard her friend’s plea from a million miles away. Something definitely wasn’t right. For a woman like Kol to call for help, something was terribly wrong. Had she found the pups? No, somehow Alexey doubted that was the reason she’d released such a desperate cry. The Stormbringer lady was a proud female, no doubt about it. She wouldn’t have called for help if she wasn’t dealing with a life threatening situation.
The Koios girl wasted no time. A scream was all it took for instincts to kick in. Her heart was pumping adrenaline; a sixth sense took control of her every movement. Courage overshadowed any emotion that could’ve put a single doubt in her mind. It was her turn to rescue Kol, just like her ebony companion had done for her during the war between Dahlia de Mai and Inferni. Nothing could have severed the bond the two females shared; not distance, not time, and not even death.
Optime form put her at a disadvantage. Thankfully, all of her training was paying off; she was getting much better at controlling her movements. How she even managed to run was a mystery. But she did. Lexey was nowhere near as fast as she could’ve been in regular lupus form but she knew there was no time to shift. Soon enough, Kol and her assailant entered her vision. The Dahlian girl didn’t even have time to assimilate the whole situation. He was aiming for her friend’s throat and that image alone was her cue to get involved.
A deep roar was the only sound she emitted as she launched herself onto the monster’s back with every intention of digging her razor sharp claws into his eyes. Her goal was to blind him, if only temporarily. Just long enough to let Kol regain her bearings.
