Kind mommies say monsters don't exist [m]

Fun thread indeed, guys! Thanks for saving the day, Lex! I'll ask to have this archived shortly.

The two she-wolves started running shortly after the predator had begun to shift, and while it initially gave chase, its instinct told it that enough had been done in protecting its kill. It was tired, and had taken almost more damage than the meal was worth. More damage than the meal itself, perhaps, but not more than was warranted by whatever future meals it had scared them away from trying to steal.

With that, the creature wanted to shift back to its four-legged form, but it knew it lacked the energy...it would be well and truly exhausted if it did that, and unready for any further competitors, should they arrive. It proceeded to devour the remaining pieces of the children, before rising and walking on. Soon, Brennt re-established his social identity, and his slow thoughts turned toward the two mean girls who tried to steal his food. They hadn't been their puppies...they should just mind their own business. He left the scene, feeling strangely satisfied by the comfortable weight in his stomach, despite the stinging of the various lacerations decorating his body.
