Her ears heard nothing, only felt the day’s soft wind against the fur the lined them. It was a gentle push and pull, sending lazily this way and that as the wind persuaded. Deep blue eyes looked out into the gorge that the cliffs looked over, the river far enough away that the rapids were only a hushed swift motion below. Trees lined its banks, flowing into the forest that created the think edge around the river; their infant leaves giving no cushion to the sight of the bare limbs. They were her favorite, still. As always, out of all that nature provided she would love them the most.

The feeling drew fresh memories, and she stared into the great open focusing on the sky’s color in hopes of pushing them back down. She shouldn’t find a moment’s rest, without her thoughts drifting back to various moments of time. Each leaving her with mixed emotions, and each having left a different imprint in her heart. It would take years to get used to her constant changes of emotion. She feared she would never be right.

Lost in her thoughts, and so desperately trying to claw herself away from them Anu almost didn’t notice the noise the came from behind her. She swiftly turned her head, cerulean eyes searching for the beast that tried to sneak up on her while she drowned in her self-reflection. What she found was certainly interesting. The form of her packmate filled her gaze, and a smile curved onto her face. It was Moose, and Anu was happy as always to see the large male. Hey there. She responded to his call, taking to her paws to greet him.

As she rose she found the movement of a white form, small like a pup, not far from where they stood. Testing the wind, Anu found Inferni riding heavily upon it. It ventured closer, and the wolf caught a glimpse of the moving coyote. She (from her fragrance) tentatively trotted along, unknowingly growing closer and closer to the two adult wolves.

You lost? She called, though their distance was shrinking the more the other moved. Anu couldn’t think of any other reason for her to venturing into a pack land.
