Nyeeeehhh! [WC: 442; WotD: aegis]

Exploring time again. Thus far, Catharsis had yet to get outside of Dahlia territory, but that was quite all right. There was plenty to see here, and it was big enough for her to get lost on a regular basis. Of course, she always found her way back - mostly because she was never truly that far away from home to begin with. But when you're a pup, being far enough away that you can't see home anymore constitutes being very, very lost. And today, the goal was to get very, very lost, then find her way back. That was, after having a very grand adventure, of course. Scampering along, legs slipping halfway out from under her every so often before she regained her balance, Catharsis sniffed the area. She was going to.. investigate! Yes, that was it. She had no crime to investigate, but she was going find one. She sniffed for any suspicious scents, but everything she found was just as inconspicuous as everything else. She would have to look - err, sniff - harder. She followed a path until..

Voila! A strange scent. There on a patio was a strange woman and many bottles of liquid that smelt none too pleasant. The girl scampered over, looking up at the woman and tilting her head. The woman was upright - Mama used to look like that, standing on just two legs. She had said that Catharsis would be able to do it someday, too. But for now, she couldn't. Letting out a short bark, the little girl tried to get the woman's attention. "Hey! Hey, lady!" the girl said in loud German, attempting to sound threatening and failing miserably. "What have you got? It smells funny!" Catharsis wasn't really sure how to conduct an investigation, but she could certainly try. She also most certainly couldn't conduct it in English. But what if the lady couldn't speak German? She considered this, then spoke again.

"What is, miss?" she said in very broken English, trying to convey the question of what the liquid was. She wasn't sure what the word for a liquid or a drink was in English, however, leaving the question very vague and confusing. Looking at the woman, she didn't look much nicer than the harsh concoction in the bottle did, and without the aegis of her guardian, Catharsis knew no better than to talk to her cousin, whom she didn't even know she was related to. Eying the liquid and the woman again, the black pup frowned, her scar creasing slightly as she did. Why would anyone want to drink that? Yuck. She must be crazy. Utterly mad.
