ooc: I wasn't sure if you were going to have all of them born in your next post ^^ But feel free to PP Naniko telling Savina to push or whatnot if you want to!

It was the circle of life, wolves growing old and dying and pups being born. In their newly established pack they had not had any wolves die of old age...but once Crimson Dreams had been around for a while longer it would undoubtedly happen. Most of their members were young adults or wolves who were still in their prime, and it would be years before they saw old age take any wolf. White ears perked up when she heard the call, the howl that Savina had sent out. It could only mean one thing--it was a pained sort of sound, a worried one.

She had been carrying the necessary things around with her for the last week or so in expectation, keeping them in a separate compartment of her backpack. She'd been visiting her large friend several times a day, in between going out of the packlands to see other patients or going to the city to get books to further her research into medicine. On her last trip to Halifax she'd even found an instrument that doctors had once used, a stethescope. It would surely come in handy.

She ran up to the mansion in her full optime form, feet stomping up the front steps with no regards to sound. She was in a hurry! Kansas' voice led her to the right room and she got down to her knees so that she might be at a better level. Nothing had happened yet, which was good. She slid her backpack from her shoulders onto the floor, opening the side compartment and taking out a few necessary things. Twine and scissors, to tie off and cut the pups' cords when they came, small washcloths to rub them with to stimulate them to breathe, and a rubber instrument that was used to suction the fluid from the whelps' noses and to clear their airways.

Her focus went to Savina. She didn't want to get to close to the mother, didn't want to crowd her. Kansas would be there to help to keep her calm while Naniko coached. "You're having contractions now--they help the puppies get down to the right place so that they can be born. Try to keep breathing steadily when they come."
