you will find him here.

Ah, there he is, Hybrid thought to himself, right on time. He inclined his head to the vagabond coyote, feigning politeness. He approached the other creature, keeping a safe distance from the other male. He could see that the creature was injured, for his movements were slow and awkward in certain places, and Hybrid did not want to frighten him. Of course, Hybrid could barely see the coyote. Much of his observation was not done with sight, for he did not desire to see, but with smell and touch as well as hearing. He could hear the coyote's breath as he neared. He could hear the coyote's footsteps and the soft rustle of vegetation. There was something odd about the way the creature moved. Or perhaps he really could see this cloaked stranger. Hybrid frowned. No, he did not wish to, so he could not.

The creature spoke. His words were softer than Hybrid's shouts, tinged with an emotion Hybrid could not identify. A question. He wanted an answer. Hybrid smiled. "You," came the reply. "You're investigating the murder in the lighthouse," Hybrid stated, then continued, "did you find him yet?" He wondered. Had the monster been caught? Or was it all too late for the poor creatures of this world? Perhaps it would be better if the monster came and took everyone away, killed the wolves and buried chaos deep into everyone's hearts. Perhaps it would be better if the monster was allowed to live. No, it would not. Hybrid did not need someone else killing where he could kill. That would not do. Besides, he did not want the monster to devour the blue-eyed wolf. He did not know if the monster would, but the boy looked delicious. A scrumptious meal fit for any warrior.
