Savina's den on the main floor of the mansion

The air of the room was filled with little squeaks and the pups crawled all over each other. Savina had been asleep, but their little protests of hunger made her emerald eyes flutter open. The mother yawned wide, her pearly teeth gleaming in the spring light that came through the window. She was glad that she had picked a room with a good window. She was sure the sunlight felt as good to her children as it did to her. "L'approvazione, l'approvazione, calma i miei bambini." She knew that they still couldn't really hear her yet, but it would only be a day or two until they opened their eyes and ears to the world.

Rolling onto her side she used her nose to nudge her pups up to her belly so they could eat. Once they were all suckling happily a broad smile lit her sable face. She couldn't believe that it had been almost two weeks since they had been born. It still felt like it had just happened. Kansas was out of the den for the moment, but she knew it wouldn't be too long before he was back. He wanted to spend as much time with their children as he could. But with them being so dependent on her, he was the one that had to go out and hunt along with other things. The Lt. General wondered if there was anyone about in the mansion to come keep her company while she waited for her mate to return. She didn't mind being alone, but a bit of company would be nice.
