The scent was unmistakable, and it was threatening to ruin an otherwise lovely day. Elliott had been gone already when Kol had awakened in the early light of dawn, but it hadn't worried her. For one thing, the brute was undoubtedly to go toe for toe against her brother, so she knew he could handle himself if any trouble should appear. Taking her time to uncurl herself from the comfort of the bedding the two of them shared, Kol had spent a lazy morning out on patrol, something she finally felt healed enough to actually do.

Unfortunately, it seemed that she might be the one to encounter trouble, and not her handsome lover.

At the first scent of Inferni in the lands of Dahlia, Kol had found herself following along its trail. Whoever owned the scent had blatantly stepped past the border and continued onward, deeper into the packlands. The Stormbringer crouched low in her optime form as she tracked its length, all the while her violet eyes burning dangerously as a steady growl emanated from her white-splashed chest. It took a little while, but finally she came upon the trespasser's location, and she stopped for a moment in utter shock. The mutt was dragging along some kind of human contraption she'd often seen in picture books of human young, his stance completely unassuming and child-like. Never taking anything for face value, Kol's hackles rose and she stalked toward the scene quick enough to hear Alexey's authoritative inquiry. Her best friend had risen swiftly up the ranks, and Kol nodded ever so slightly to her as she took a place beside her. Lexey was the highest authority in the situation, and Kol was simply on the scene as backup. Violet eyes burned holes in the sight of the Inferni male, and her guard was up no matter how benign and innocent he appeared to be.
