She nodded, the large flowers held a small bit of the sun’s power all their own. Very appropriate. she agreed softly. Anu would have to return at the turn of winter, see the remains of the vast fields. If she was brave enough she might even take a few flowers for the walk home. Silently she promised that it would be few, and the seeds used for her own garden. She knew that they wouldn’t be hard to tend to, but might wait till next season to put them in the ground. Such large flowers were hard to grow once summer god started.

Anu focused on the stranger, giving a soft smile as she spoke. I think it was both she said easily and with a wider grin. Anu found it most intriguing that Alacrity was from such a far off place. She had heard of wolves coming from across the ocean, her good friend Savina was from Italy. But never had she heard of Africa, being quite homely and uneducated in geography. It was hard to keep the questions behind her white teeth. Now, what made you come over here? Africa, exotic accents and no doubt languages and creatures that looked as wild as she did had to have been enough to keep any beast away from a place as plain as this side of the world.
