It was still his choice, and he could do whatever he wanted - the hand was held in such a way that should he not react towards it, it would still be natural to have it return to Dawali with no companion. He was gone nonetheless, and while the Bone Bearer would miss the husky mix, perhaps he had found some consolidation and new friendship in the male in front of him. He hoped so - it would be stress relief in a way, having someone to talk to who wasn't female.
