The vineyard remained true to its title, how several of the smaller creatures that resided here were an easy lunch for the lazy. Straying away from her guardians, siblings, and the church more so as the days progressed forth; the exploration of Dahlia de Mai was proving to be more interesting than fathomed. So many sights, smells, sounds, and feelings to be sought, and in a world where stimulation of the five senses was the primary director to get around to several places, Catalyst had been absorbing and greedily taking in all these sensations at once. Wanderlust was becoming an addiction, a vice, a terrible obsession that would prove hard to shake off once the taste and adrenaline was felt.

Upon coming to the vineyard and its sections of tall grasses, this had to be Catalyst’s most favored place at this point; mainly because her lithe white figure could easily disappear amongst the tall grasses, and it was literally like a maze trying to find her ways out to a clearing. Frustrating at times, but fun nonetheless (especially when she came upon a bird’s nest within the grasses, scaring them out and trying to chase after them in the fray). At one point she was laughing to herself out loud, dashing through the grasses just to see how fast and how far she could push herself before she ended up into some random coordinate among the field. For a puppy, it was certainly an easy task to wear one’s self out with imagining up things to keep one occupied for the day.

It was clearly unintentional, but at one point Catalyst trampled upon a nest settled into the grasses, claiming death upon a small roosting bird that had to have just entered adulthood. Catalyst nearly tripped over her own paws as she felt the road block as she sprinted, and did a double front flip when there was a bump that came in the way of her paws. Collecting herself, she immediately back tracked to where the nest was, and seeing the fallen frame of the bird lay still. Her nose sniffed the fine feathers, its décor a beautiful shade of blue and violet. For something that appeared to be so pretty, it was honestly a shame it had to end this way, but for now, this little mistake was Catalyst’s token prize. It would prove to be an action figure and chew toy in one, and so taking it gingerly in her jaws, she made her ways out of the grassy field to where she was once in the clearing again.

Deciding on a place to put it for now, she left the dead bird amongst a natural pile of rocks situated in the vineyard. It was her possession now to do what she wished, but she wasn’t done with playing in the long grasses just yet. Hiding it there, she then bounded right back in, chasing out a whole mess of critters that’s home was disturbed by the small pup.
