Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes

___ "Yup, just like that," Apollo reassured her, once again letting his attention return to the oddity of their eye similarities. It just seemed to strange to him. But Apollo wasn’t allowed to focus on that for too long. Addison was speaking again, and her words made the young boy’s heart stop. Ice water seemed to be invading his veins and his maw parted ever so slightly, assuming he had misheard the young girl. Apollo wasn’t sure if Sirius was a common name or not, but he had never heard it anywhere else – even on his lone travels away from Nova Scotia. He was baffled, but he figured it could happen.

___ At least until the girl mentioned Dierdre. Apollo would have gone along pretending all of this was a coincidence, but now he knew. "My mother," he started, his throat feeling thick and dry, "was named Dierdre." He often spoke about her in the past tense, as if she were no longer alive. Perhaps because to Apollo her absence had made it feel as if she had been dead all along. "And Sirius is my brother." He paused, studying those eyes again, now realizing why the girl had them. It was coincidence at all. It was genes.
