when our mouths are filled with fire

She gave him a smile as she realized that he had succeeded as well, lowering her spears to look at the animals that they had brought down. They would provide good meat for the tribe, for the continuation of their family. It was great! She was caught up in the moment, and realized that she hadn't been showing the kind of respect that she ought to be showing to the animals and their spirits. They were helping the wolves live by dying and being consumed, and they did deserve thanks. She watched Hemming, then gave them a silent Thank You herself. It was humbling, to realize that a newer tribemember had known what to do to give the animal spirit respect. She had learned something today.

"You did really well, Hemming. You should train as a warrior, like me--you're very good with weapons." She wasn't sure what his path would be. Warrior was the right path for her, but each wolf was different. Whatever path he chose, though...she felt certain that he would succeed.
