___ It caught Apollo off guard when the girl got to her feet so quickly, spinning to face him with words tinged in venom. He shrugged, still working his way downward towards her. "Just thought I’d ask," he replied simply, wondering now if this trek would have been easier on four legs, rather than two. Both hands were outstretched, grasping at the broken rock so that he could shimmy down a small slope. Once he was on solid, relatively flat ground again, he let his gaze travel over to the girl. She had spun her frame away from him, and Apollo’s eyes danced at the hem of her dress as a small breeze caused it to wave against her legs. He looked up, however, when she spun around again with a water bottle propped in one hand.

___ He couldn’t deny that he was thirsty, and that water bottle was almost full. It was beckoning him, but Apollo wasn’t sure what to make of the situation. He didn’t reply right away, wondering if there was some hidden agenda. He knew it wasn’t true though – his mind just making things up for sake of entertainment. He smiled and nodded, "Sure, if you don’t mind." He made his way closer to her then, eyes skirting across the things that accompanied her. She looked much as Apollo had just weeks prior, when he had traveled back to Nova Scotia from Maine; he wondered where she had come from. "Been traveling?," he dared to ask, as he moved within yards from her. He wasn’t about to go take the water bottle from her hands, and instead waited until she would hand it over to him.
