When Dawali’s hard words reached her ears, the girl gave the man an unhappy grimace. ”He held Baby Duck hard and made it scared, you don’t know what he was going to do to my baby, you don’t care if my baby dies!” That last line had not been planned, but flew out of her anyway. The girl was already extremely upset because of her own behaviour, and Dawali’s reprimand now caused her eyes to flood over with salty tears. A hiccup sounded from the girl as those sad tears started to run down her cheeks. No one ever scolded uncle Ho for the things he did! He had called Noir a penguin, but she had still been the one getting the blame for being rude. Now he had almost killed Baby Duck, and Dawali said nothing mean to him. It was so unfair, it was unfair so unfair unfair unfair unfair! Was not mummies supposed to protect their children? Was it wrong to protect her own child from death? Dawali was just a stupid old man that knew nothing of what it meant to be a mother!

She gave her leader a few moments to prove that he would scold uncle Ho too, but nothing came. The disappointment was so heavy in her chest. The girl’s body sunk down, giving after to the weight of sorrow and injustice. Uncle Ho’s reaction to it all was even worse. He did not say that he was uncle Ho, only brother of her mother. He did not like her anymore. That realization was a proper kick straight in the face. If it had been a physical blow, Noir would no longer have lived. But no, it was a mental wound, and the girl fell down on her bum the instant he had ‘announced’ that he did no longer like her. She had just tried to protect Baby Duck! The girl’s own eyes were so flooded that she was unable to see the increased production of liquid in her uncle’s own eyes. She only heard those words where he said that he would walk away forever and find a new home in a land far away (Noir’s brain added all holes, of course).

All these things altogether was too much for her little heart to bear. Everything was unfair and everything was sad. The girl then began to sob loudly, the little stream of salty tears turning into a furious river of hurt. She had liked Uncle Ho and had not meant to hurt him and now he would go away forever and she would never see his girly bum and stupid hat ever again!
