Xeris' vision was obscured by trees, shrubs and rain as she pressed onward through the forest. If she could at least get out of Inferni's territory, that could be enough to save her life. It still smelled of coyote where she ran, however, so she kept going, intent on finding her way out. Her side ached, along with her leg and her face. Assuming she didn't die of blood loss, she should be able to make it back to Phoenix Valley. Or at least, that was what her desperate, panicking mind told her over and over again.

The wolf woman mustered up her strength and continued on, until she suddenly came across a break in the forest. It was here that she noticed something which she hadn't before: high posts with what appeared to be the skulls of wolves impaled upon them. Her golden eyes widened at the sight; that could have been her. With a small whimper, Xeris continued to run as best she could and as far as she could away from the horrors of Inferni, limping along the way, bearing scars that would forever remind her to stay away...
