Her line danced with the lazy roll of the lake’s tide. A small pressure pulling at it, so small that Anu didn’t even notice its tug. The woman was curious to know more about the female that had seemed to steal away Jazper’s heart. She was experienced in the ways of falling in love, and knew all the signs and symptoms. It was his smile, the change in his features and the tone of his voice. They all told her that his heart beat wildly when he thought of her. Anu knew all too well how a woman could so suddenly change ones life, change the rhythm of a once steady heart.

“No territory?” Anu asked. How did they eat? How could they protect their members without borders and boundaries? The questions welling in her mind, for such wandering was for a lone wolf, one that could sneak through lands claimed by others without being noticed. But an entire tribe? It seemed quite unrealistic. She sounded wonderful, now settled among their ranks and within their borders. What he said lastly was what made Anu react, her smile widened and her eyes looked at him with a playful glint.

“A sister? Of Savina?” Anu had always trusted Jaz, knew of his loyalty and kindness. But, he would need to be careful. That was for sure. Anu did not know the history between their Commander and her sister, but she did know that Savina would not allow a broken hearted Marino. Protecting the pack was truly securing the stability of its members, as Anu had begun to realize more and more.
