They were tall stalks, cut from a bush that stood in the back of her garden. It held a sweet scent that reminded her of her pillow, for she placed the pedals beneath it to aid in slumber. More pertinent, they reminded her of another, a woman of the flower pack. The lavender held a dark hue of purple, nurtured in the soil of her garden and fed by the summer’s heavy rains. A bunch was held in her hand, and every now and again the fey bent her nose to them, having lost the scent in her mind and taking it up with a smile. She had walked far and long, over expansive territories in her Optime form. The progress would have been fast on four limbs, but then how would she bring the flowers? The Dahlia borders were not foreign to Anu, and she crossed with no hesitation. She had a purpose here, and a peaceful one at that. No she hadn’t asked if she could visit, but there had been too much time placed between their last two and if Anu was to be the one to keep the thoughts of their connection alive in the Dahlia’s mind then so be it.

The day was a perfect one. A blue sky more intense then her gaze could produce stood above, while rain happy grasses took root below. The Sun shone down, to her front and a happy guide on her journey. He smiled at her, and when she attempted to lay her eyes on him for then a moment he resided in her sight for many after. Blinking him away she found that the trail that she walked did not look a familiar as she had hoped. Much of the scenery had changed with the life giving rain. Vines covered tree trunks, and grasses hid roots and trails. She slowed, holding the memory of the day she discovered a house and garden in her mind. Even with the effort, another came to her mind’s eye. Indeed, when she searched for it the scent was the same.

Nose led her, flowers still in hand towards the large oak. He caught her eye, a massive being as ancient as the dirt itself that towered over the other secondary forest growth around it. The earth bound fey strode towards it, and yet slowed did not approach it. The boundary was invisible, and yet Anu saw it clearly. The tree was intriguing, but the protection that lingered over the earth that surrounded it was powerful and she would rather not disturb it. Blue eyes rested upon it for a moment, her form barely in its large shadow.
