_____ He hadn’t really noticed that the father was moving more slowly to accommodate his son – but Kansas did feel like he was stronger for being able to keep up, and even being able to traipse along a bit ahead of the chocolate male. It gave him a temporary sense of pride, and it would have disappointed him had he found out that his father really was just going less quickly than usual. However, he even felt a bit uncomfortable being up ahead, so he slowed down once again so that he was striding beside Phoenix. He didn’t know where they were going – he assumed his father had their excursion all planned out.

_____ Kansas looked up at his father with large eyes alight, hanging on to his every word. A few words tripped him up, but he made sure to let his father finish speaking before he began to ask questions. Another adventure, this time with his whole family? That sounded very exciting, and large smile lit up the small boy’s face. "Oh, that would be lotsa fun. Can… can Moon go, too?" He asked, hoping his idol brother would be able to join them. "And, papa? Wha’s a ‘valley’?" It was frustrating being in the dark about so many things, but that was what questions were for, right? He had a plethora of them; it was just a matter of awaiting the right time to ask.
