Rain spoke to her. It’s pattering danced over the tree’s remaining leaves, and with the winds mighty blow a shower of the red and yellow fell among the rainfall. It soaked her coat, and muddied her paws and yet the woman found no true harm in it other then the cold. Her heart and step were light, mind clear of thoughts that might weigh her down. Her small endeavor beyond the boundaries had come to and end, and she wished for the warmth of the manor. A fire perhaps, a blanket to cradle her shoulders. The kettle, and scolding tea that might break the chill from her bones.
Even with her hope of warmth and rest Anu walked with a slow pace. Her silver coat stood against the bright leaf litter that covered the ground and the tall trees that lined her narrow path. It wasn’t until a scent came to her nose that she brought her gaze from the ground and in search of the fragrances origin. A moment passed, and it was paw steps that came to ears. The Dreamer took to the trail of smell and sound and found the beast that she knew did not belong.
Blue eyes caught sight of him, and her pace slowed as she approached. “Can I help you?” she asked, though she was only being polite. Anu wished to ask what he thought he was doing here, or more simply who he was. But she was sure her curiosity would be satisfied before she left this stranger.
