Rawrarawr!

Something had gone horribly wrong. The silvery coyote had no idea what it was; in her present state she was hardly capable of logical thought. Blurred faces shifted as they drifted in and out of the room, and after a moment or two she ceased to pay attention to anyone but Gabriel anyway. He was pretty clearly upset now, too, and the coyote woman frowned, her coal ears shifting forward to listen to the words that came from his mouth, angry still but now with a new tone. The coyote sighed loudly, squaring her shoulders and shooting everyone else who still dawdled nearby a rather venomous glare, shooing them away and down the remainder of the stairs with a wave of her leaden hand.

The coyote took a step toward Gabriel, clutching at the rail beside her with one hand for balance's sake. She did look rather ridiculous with the patch covering her bad eye and the hat on her head, but she was totally unaware of this, and she did her best to appear concerned. Even as she spoke, it was hard not to giggle for any reason or none at all. "You didn't do too much either way," the coyote said. "I think everybody thinks you're really mad but I don't think you're that mad," the hybrid said, rambling and making very little sense. With her free hand, the coyote lifted the pirate hat from her head, reaching down to place it on the top of the Aquila's golden-furred head.

Anselm's birthday, Samhain—either way, they were damn good excuses to party, and the hybrid woman could hardly remember her sadness or why she'd been feeling it. It was unlikely she'd even remember much of tonight, but liquor was especially good for that. "Let's go party with everybody else," the coyote said, hardly a hint of pleading in her voice. She was oblivious, obliviated—all she could do was try and amp up the fun for everyone else. She started toward the stairs, but halted at the top, peering down at the dizzying array of steps winding downwards, turning her body halfway around to look for Gabriel to help her down, lest she smash the rest of her face up.
