In your eyes, forsaken me

Big Grin 700+

He offered an empty smile when her voice failed her already at her first word. ”Y-yes.” He sent straight back at her, affirming what was clearly obvious; that it was he that had answered her call. His fake smile washed away then and his face turned genuine with that mild curiosity that rarely was on display in his face, perhaps he even regretted making fun of her stuttering. The Haku Soul that had named his daughter was far gone by now; had evolved into something else that no longer could afford being her sire in heart and mind. She had been named after her grandmother because Haku once had loved his ivory mother. He had lost Milla Jolie at Colibri’s birth, but she had never been more than entertainment anyway. His brown and cream coated daughter, however, she had lived and huddled up against his body. She had been so tiny, so insistent to live despite the loss of mother and siblings before she had even taken her own breath. How could he not have loved her?

She had survived and she had been his. Ever since he had turned one year he had known that something was wrong with him. He had brought her to Bleeding Souls and sent her to Clouded Tears where his family still ruled. He had wanted someone to help her lead a worthy life without the danger he could put her in. It had been for the best. Not too long after she had tracked him down again against all odds, she had even brought an ivory friend that reminded the male so much about his grandmother, another person that he had loved dearly back in a time when it had still been possible for him to reach such emotions. He took care of them and Colibri was never sent away again. Unfortunately. His mind had succumbed fast to the first touches of the taint. He had suspected that the demon had either periods of high activity or more dormant periods. Despite this the man had not anticipated such a swift movement from the sickness, and had not been able to stop it.

It took over his mind with a thin layer of a new yet similar consciousness, making it quite easy to turn cruel almost overnight. While he still believed to be in control of himself, he truly was not anymore. The demon’s possession of Haku was not as in the vivid stories about evil spirits and exorcisms. Haku and the demon very slowly turned into one being. His fatherly love had been washed away, and the man had never even noticed when and how it had happened. One day he had destroyed her forever, penetrating her and killing her innocence, receiving pleasure as he did so. He who had once loved her and wished her only well. Once.

The man said nothing as she gave him her message. He could instantly tell that these were words that she had practised and practised on saying. He did not doubt that she had planned this for a long time before actually doing it now today. ”Hold on, Colibri.” the male said with soothe attached to his voice. He walked a bit past her and with a movement with his snout he gesticulated for her to follow him. His whole stance was calm, he only wanted to talk. ”Please calm down, girl, you seem all worked up.” the man said, trying to help her calm those nerves she seemed to always struggle with. So weak, god, why was she still alive. ”It is okay and I accept your decision, I just want to talk a bit with you about it first so that everything will be clear so that no one can hold any grudges.” Surely she could not reject such an opportunity. To be able to leave without being despised, without leaving disappointed friends and family behind. He set the course towards Crimson Dreams, although made sure to make her believe that the direction of the walk was completely random. It was not hurried, it was not swift. It was a slow pace, so that it was easy and natural to share a conversation while moving. He, of course, knew where she would be going. Who she would be going to.
