The tea pot was placed on a dresser in her room. Small stems of holly bushes, dotted with red berries, stuck out from the opening. It was waiting, decorated for the one that had given it to her. Anu had left it a day ago. Her paws were tired, but she still donned her Optime form. Four paws would have brought her more quickly, but Anu enjoyed the thought of wrapping her arms around the woman she sought far too much to shift downwards. After her conversation with Conor, Anu moved freely through the Dahlia landscape with eagerness in her steps.

The Dreamer could smell her, a sweet scent that tempted her like honey. Her imagination had heard her voice, calling to any that wished to hear, though Anu was sure it was just a figment that her hopes conjured. The smell of her grew and grew, and it was laced with a rot that made her brow furrow with concern. In the trees Anu slowed, pausing slightly to listen to the forest. They were sound muffled by distance and yet clear by their intensity.

The woman ran, the unknown melted with Coli’s scent and she ran as quickly as she could. There was no time to shift, no time to think or plan. Fear grew as she found the poisoned scent to that of Haku, propelling her further and faster. Her muscles tore, screamed from the fatigue they already felt and the unrelenting commands her mind gave them. The slight fey found it hard to find a match to her sprint, and now she felt her paws loose all control with only one thought in mind. Anu felt the scream echo in her ears, again and again and still she was not prepared to see the beast that hid her lover beneath his body.

She could have screamed, spoken, yelled. But all the Dreamer could do was pull the fragile female from beneath him. Hope to bring her to her feet, hope to tear her away from his jaws. Her voice was ragged, and she tried to speak. Nothing came. Again she held the wolfess, her arms clinging to brown fur in ever attempt to keep her from his teeth. There was blood, she was bleeding, but Anu could not avoid the wounds she had already suffered. She spoke again, and still her voice was lost. There was no guarding the younger female from the male, his form too large and powerful. “Run!” her voice spoke, finally flushed from its hiding place by her panic. There was no hope for them to fight, they needed to flee.
