Oh the shame of it all. Running back with his tail between his legs, both metaphorically and literally, and he was empty handed to boot. He had failed to fulfill his goal upon leaving Cour des Miracles soon after joining it. Strelein had somehow thought that his brother, Arol, might have followed him. In their childhood, Arol had been the one most like Strel in personality and in taste. He had hoped to forfend the bond that had once existed between them. However, it seemed the old pack's rock hard hand of power muzzled the other von Rosnete. Strel was sent from the unclaimed hovel he claimed as his own for the brief interim, back to the edges of the pack he felt he could snugly fit into well. It seemed like some sort of stalemate; a scoreboard with the redhead against his old home. All that adorned that imaginary board was a tie, with no breaker in sight.

If sticking his tail between his legs further was possible, and still have him walking normally on two legs, he would have wedged it in there tight. Leaving felt like he was forsaking something grand, but undetermined yet. Strel knew there was more to see and do in Cour des Miracles, but his family instincts had burned hotter. At least, for a short while. Sometime, after being gone almost two months, the two year old finally realized his own stupidity; if his brother were truly looking for him, then he could find him with a pack, where he could be accepted as another stray pup, eager to fit in. After literally beating himself up over it, Strel turned and struck back to the border.

There it got a little tricky. He idled, already in the pack lands, but still far enough on the edge that no one going about their day would notice him with ease. Glancing about, he wondered what this situation entailed. What was he supposed to do? Before this, he'd only asked to join one pack, and this was it. He was standing on the edge of the first pack he had ever joined. Except now he was asking to come back, like a soldier who was beaten by scare tactics instead of real fire.

An odd, out of place whimper escaped him. It was quickly stifled and the redhead shook his head to clear it. More stupidity. How was he ever going to attract a mature man? He paused again a few more tentative steps in. He was starting to feel that, perhaps, he ought to wait for someone. Maybe someone would be kind enough to liberate the redhead from his woe.
