Her stomach churned at his words, she could have vomited right then and there had anything been in her stomach. As it was she merely dry heaved, her ears pinned back against her skull as she tried to gain composure of her gut. He couldn’t be serious, even Haku wouldn’t be so reckless. Yet staring up at his cold, dark eyes she could see no rationality left. Suddenly the children growing inside of her were far more important than the whole rest of the pack, though before she would have sworn that she would give her life and even the lives of her family for the protection of Dahlia de Mai, she would sacrifice them all for the children she bore.
“Okay… Okay…” Her voice was gentle, soothing and most of all submissive. All the fight had instantly fled when she realized there was a very real possibility that she could get hurt here. Or rather that they could get hurt. “Whatever you want Haku… I’ll step down.” And she meant it. Dahlia de Mai was not worth it, and as soon as Slay came back they would flee, just far away enough to keep her children safe but close enough to send help into the heart of Dahlia and remove the demon once and for all.
