the big bang theory

The hybrid could hardly stand to look at the other coyote, but sending her away would give her the message that she had done wrong. That simply was not correct; Vieira had done everything Kaena had asked of her, tolerated more from the silver-furred woman than even Kae thought possible. The other canine's tail wagged slowly a few times, a flame of guilt searing through the Centurion's heart. And after all that, to still be able to wag one's tail? There was still that creeping feeling of illness in the hybrid's chest and stomach, slithering through her innards and twisting her insides about.

Vieira stood, simply waiting for more punishment to be meted out, but the hybrid woman could no longer oblige those darker urges inside of her. Wrapped up in the moment, it was not so bad; there was nothing to think about. Now, forced to face her deeds and gaze into the young, pretty face of her captive, Kaena did not feel particularly good about herself. The desire to hurt had passed, satiated on the younger canine's blood and bodily fluid, and there was a loveless ache in Kaena now, her own balled-up guilt and shame throbbing and festering deep within her, some forgotten remnant of Salvaged, of Kairo, of Haku.

The hybrid stepped slowly backwards toward the elevated part of the floor that served as her bed. "Come here," she said, and even to herself it did not sound commanding, more like pleading, begging. She was beyond caring at that point; she had inflicted pain and in a way, the hybrid woman too was as tired as the other coyote in front of her, utterly drained and devoid of any more energy. She desired to sleep again, and curl up until the late afternoon rolled around and she could drink to forgetting this morning.

Thanks to Akumu for the table!
