I am so terrible for the delay. D: I apologize!

The coyote woman ventured outside of Inferni for once. It was one of the few times in the past month and a half she'd crept beyond the coyote perimeter and into the surrounding territories; the silver-furred hybrid generally took care to avoid leaving the familiar comfort of her home. The desire for solitude and peace of mind for a while, however, was too strong for the silver-furred woman to resist after some time, and the coyote found herself slinking to the woods. She would remain close to Inferni territory, and she would be on absolute alert. The coyote padded forward, enjoying the crunch of dead underbrush beneath her feet. The forest was still green; these trees did not lose their leaves as some did, and it would remain lush throughout winter.

Another thick, piney scent entered the hybrid's nose, and she recognized it as the same smell that Razekiel had carried on his fur. She knew that smell; she was old as dirt and she would have had to live a sheltered life indeed not to have recognized it—but her proximity to home lead her to the belief that perhaps the origin of this scent was indeed her son. The coyote knew there were others that used the substances, but one of the curious effects of continued use was that the user eventually began to smell of the herb itself, gaining that earthy scent from it. Maybe this was because it flowed through their whole body and even to their fur; maybe it was simply exposure and carrying it with them so often. The hybrid didn't know, and as she meandered closer to the source she considered these things.

The scent of the other canine masked beneath the marijuana smell grew stronger as Kaena approached, and the hybrid rounded a bend of pine trees to see a pale-furred canine, her coat the color of ash in tones. She was kneeling at a stream, and the silver-furred hybrid immediately recognized her as a coyote. This made Kaena feel safe; safer still was the fact that this was a female. "Hey there," she called, never certain on how to greet others. The coyote had always been the awkward type, and this was no different. She had desired a simple lonely stroll, but the scent of that substance had drawn her to this strange coyote, and now that she was in the company of another the silvery hybrid did feel strangely better about herself.
