Vieira had been forced not to mention she was Astaroth's daughter to his family. To her, they were not family. She did not have family. She had a master. She had no idea what family really was, no idea about connections and was generally lost if it came up. She knew the terms. Mother, father, brother, sister. They were in her head. She could make connections, but she had no idea what they were. Astaroth was her father but that was just a word she knew him by. He was her master, her life, and she knew nothing else. His family were just coyotes that tortured her, took advantage of her, and participated in her training.

"Her name is Dieriel," she said and gripped the pan tighter. It was heavy and as she held it, was only going to get heavier. Kaena scooted closer before she was ale to continue and offered to take it from her. Her golden eyes flickered up just for a second to see her expression, since she could not read the tone, and found Kaena was being nice and helping her. Vieira thought it was a little weird but she did not object. Kaena had made an order, however odd it was, and she let the woman take it. When it was free from her hands, she lowered them to her knees as her muscles relaxed and the burn began to disappear.

Her eyes remained on the fish though, so she knew when to have Kaena take them away and she could check them. "She is nice. She did a lot for them, I think, but she was... she was not like me. She knew a lot about cooking," she explained. Her description was not the best one but she did not know how to describe the woman. She was not around all that often, not as much as her two uncles and grandfather. Even they were not around much, but they were active in her live before Astaroth died. After he did, she did not see much of them.
