The tawny-furred woman accepted the compliment graciously, and the silver-furred hybrid chewed happily enough on her own meal, and after a moment it became obvious to her something was off. She couldn't figure it at first, but after gazing on Vieira for a moment or two more she realized it: the other coyote was not eating. The silver-furred canine swallowed what was left in her mouth and peered at Vieira, tilting her ash-furred head to the side with a squinted golden eye. It made sense—Viei needed permission to do anything, and eating while Kaena still was eating, or attempting to, anyway, was probably against someone else's rules. The coyote woman frowned at this slightly, considering; it was a show of dominance to keep the food for herself until she was sated, but the hybrid woman was not certain there was any need for that. She considered this for a long, quiet moment, absently still eating her own fish, swallowing purposefully, and nodding to the metallic-furred canine, the elder of the pair spoke. "Go on, eat," she said, speaking gruffly, almost as if she wished she did not have to say this to her.
