Xeris headed into the cabin, leaving the door open behind her for Pontiac to enter. Sitting down on the bed, she gestured to a chair in which Pontiac could sit. The other white wolfess asked how she'd been feeling. "Tired," she replied with a bit of a weak smile. "A little stressed, what with never having done this before and all." It was probably only natural, but Xeris continued to be concerned about the birth of the pups and their health and safety. She just had to keep telling herself that it would all be okay.
The white wolfess noticed the bag at Pontiac's side, and wondered if she had been traveling. Xeris had been unable to do anything even close to traveling in recent days; the short trip to the stream was the furthest from the cottage that she'd been. She was lucky that Pendzez hadn't known about her little venture, as he would probably have scolded her for not resting. But Xeris felt that a little bit of exercise would be good for her. Someday she'd be able to take the pups out for walks around the territory, too. The golden-eyed wolfess then turned to Pontiac again. "What about you? How have you been?"
