Xeris' body had become tuned to waking up in the early morning. She didn't feel like it was any different today as she opened her golden eyes groggily and looked around the cabin. Pendzez wasn't there at the moment. She figured that he'd gone out to get some food or go for a stroll. Xeris stretched her arms and sat up on the bed, moving her body to become more comfortable with her swollen belly. Perhaps she'd go out for a bit of a walk, maybe see where Pendzez was as he couldn't have gone too far. She slowly stood up, getting out of the bed.
And then it hit. Xeris suddenly clenched her teeth in pain, letting out a whimper as a violent wave of pain suddenly came over her. Clutching at her stomach, which seemed to be the source of the pain, the white wolfess leaned over for a moment, trying to steady herself until the pain was gone. But then it came back. This could only mean one thing, she knew that. It was time for the pups to be born. Suddenly Xeris began to panic. She'd never done anything like this before. She'd never even seen pups being born before, not even at the Retreat. Not knowing what else to do, she threw back her head and howled as loud as she could, both out of pain and out of need. Hopefully someone would hear and come to help her, because she didn't know if she could do this alone.
