Barely Breathing
#12
Alright, fair enough. It was fun, thanks for your participation! I am going to ask around to see if those who have lost would be interested in a double-elimination style losers' bracket (which would permit everyone who lost this round to keep going until they lose a second time). I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, let's leave this up for a bit until round 2, as Lascivio Aedes is never very busy anyway.

The onslaught was total, and besides the one brief interruption when the male had tried frantically to escape before being grabbed and pulled back by his merciless attacker, it had gone unimpeded on until the end. Eventually, when Leroy's motions had become sluggish with exhaustion and loss of blood, when he was no longer fast or strong enough to resist, the predator had secured a grip on his throat, and squeezed. As the adrenaline surge curtailed the pain in the hunter's body began to grow and the beast's immense satisfaction at making its kill was nearly overcome by its distress at its own injuries.

It had very little use for personal pride, and so while it felt glad that it had succeeded, it did not dwell on the implications of its successful kill. For now, it would stumble back through the fog until it could find its den in the human ruins...it didn't know where to find it in all this fog, but with the certainty one can only find in dreams, it knew that its den was in there, and soon it would be in there, sleeping again, and healing.
