The snow had been falling more or less constantly over the night, tucking the frozen earth under a heavy coat of white. The cold nipped at the alabaster femme's paws as she gently made her way towards the frozen expanse of Rabbit Lake. The Crimson Dreamer had fallen back on her usual lupine fur to protect her from the icy breeze, finding it to be a welcome remembrance of times long gone. The snow did not deter her steady pace, as the winters of her homeland had transformed her into a creature of the cold season, one bound to relish the unusual texture of the earth as it lay covered by the thick blanket from above. It felt comforting for the ivory female to be trapped inside this frozen world, and gratitude towards the sudden change in temperature washed over her like a tide would on the expectant seashores of warmer lands. She had spent the night at the entrance to her den, wistfully watching the snowflakes as they wove invisible lines through the still air, their slow descent visible against the obsidian canopy of the midnight sky. Memories of her homeland had passed through her mind, her thoughts taking her back to times that had been calmer, more predictable than the ones she was facing now. In the end, sleep had visited her early into the hours of dawn, so that now, as she made slow progress through the untarnished snow, her limbs were aching with fatigue.

As such, the figure of another wolf at the edge of the lake came as a troubling surprise to her. Should this male, whose scent was unfamiliar to her, prove any trouble to her pack, she felt her body could do little to stand in his way. She slowed her pace somewhat, before stopping completely a little way away, wondering whether her pristine white coat would go unnoticed in equally blanched surroundings. The female decided that even if it would, her scent would surely give her away in due time. Her amber gaze rested on the solitary figure who seemed to be busy staring at his own reflection, trying to ascertain whether the dark wolf posed any threat at all, either to her or her home. It was hard to tell whether his posture was on edge or not, though from the little she could see from this distance, he didn't seem very comfortable, probably because of the strength of her pack's scent. Approaching the male would be difficult without knowing anything else about him beforehand, yet there was nothing else Urma felt she could do. Sooner or later her presence would be betrayed by her distinct scent, and by then she could not say how the wolf would react to her proximity. Falling back into a steady, yet quickened pace, she shortened the distance between them, so much so that they were only a few metres apart, and she was certain that the sound of her paws as they made their way through squeaky snow had been registered by the stranger. She waited for a change in his stance, yet as nothing concrete came of it, she simply said, her tone delicate, afraid of angering the dark male, "Hello, stranger. May I help you?"
