Halifax, it was a place that Marik had visited before. Not that he had explored the city in full. He had been attracted to a large building on his first visit. It had turned out to be Dalhousie University. He hadn’t gotten through the entire place on that visit but had certainly found some quite interesting things. Too many things for just one visit. His arms were only so big and so he could only carry so much. That meant a return visit to the city for him. He had yet to make himself something with which to carry all of his findings in. Actually, that was a project for the spring when large prey would be found. He would use their hides and make himself a satchel of sorts from it. He had the idea for it but just not the resources. That just meant that he would have to settle for just collecting an armful at a time until he could get what he needed in order to be able to make something that would allow his to gather more. But that wasn’t to say that he was a packrat either. Sure, there were plenty of things that he found that were of interest but he wasn’t about to try and take all of it back to the mansion. Cotl probably wouldn’t enjoy that too much actually. Not if Marik insisted on filling the room that they shared with junk. Cotl already put up with enough from Marik and so he didn’t need to add to it by bringing in lots of junk. What the hybrid had brought back so far had been things that could be used. A couple of blankets like his slightly older brother had wanted, a couple of “bibles” that he had found for himself, a set of knives that he could use for skinning, something that was called ramen, and weird bits of metal that had fallen out of a sealed storage box that he had broken. Oh, and the storage box with a tail that he had carried everything back in. So all in all it really wasn’t much at all that he had brought back. Just enough things to fill the storage box with the tail that he had placed them in in order for him to be able to transport them.

But on this trip into the city he didn’t head towards the university. He stuck to the city itself this time. There was no real reason for it other than curiosity. He spotted someone leaving from Inferni and had followed. But at a distance of course. He didn’t know who it was and it was that point which had made him curious. It wasn’t like he had met too many from Inferni anyways. So what better way to learn about them then to end up stalking them? Shush, it isn’t wrong. Actually it probably was but oh well. They had to band together now. That and Marik was just plain old nosy. He wanted to know where this coyote was headed off too. What was he after? And it wasn’t like Marik didn’t enjoy trips to Halifax. There was always so much to do and see in the city. So many interesting things to collect. Which again led to the question of what this other male was after in this place. What was it that had drawn out the young one to be so far away from his home? Oh well, Marik might as well offer his help anyways. They were in the same pack so they would have to learn to work together eventually. Sooner was better than later, was it not? At least that was how the hybrid was perceiving things to be. He could easily be wrong though. It wouldn’t be a first time and certainly wouldn’t be a last either. Still there was no denying that two sets of hands were better than one set when carrying things. Especially if what was to be carried ended up being numerous.

He ended up following after the other, entering the building behind him. “I saw you leaving Inferni and figured that you could use some help.” The words were spoken as he entered. He figured that he wouldn’t be a total creeper. At least explaining what he was doing following the other for so long if the younger coyote happened to even notice Marik stalking earlier on. Who knew exactly? Still the coyote hybrid had at least made his intentions clear now. Those two colored eyes glanced around the small room of the shop as he stepped in further. “Do you know what you are after already? Maybe I can help you find it.” He didn’t know if the other was out to just explore and pick up what he found to be interesting or if he had come with an actual purpose in mind. The latter sounded like the most logical choice seeing as what they were sitting right on the very precipice of. They were I for trying times ahead. Not only winter but for war as well. They weren’t about to have an easy time at all. The season was destined to be doubly difficult now. Marik had joined the pack at the perfect time hadn’t he? Not that anyone could have anticipated this. No one planned for war. Okay, well war was planned for or at least strategized for. But not many, if any, woke up one day and just suddenly decided to have a war. At least not without provocation first. But again Marik could be wrong in his way of thinking. The coyote and dog mix wasn’t much of a fighter so he didn’t really know the procedure for declaring war. And it was fine by him not to know it. The only fighting that he liked to do was between the sheets anyways. “Are you here for the pack or just for yourself? Either way I can still help you carry things back if you want. I don’t have anything else planned for the day really.” It was the least that he could offer for having silently stalked and invaded upon this youth’s private and personal time.
