Their embrace was still, as still as their white surroundings. But the calm of the forest and the calm of the scene did not reflect their inner selves, for both were conflicted now. Mew wondered; what would she do? Now, she had family on the other side. Perhaps Jefferson could lend her some advice, despite his hatred for the clan. Perhaps he would be able to understand, as Mew had understood him, and as she had understood this wretched creature she had her arms wrapped around. There were many things Mew Sadira could do, now. She could offer the younger female a home, she could try and rectify the wrongs, to dissolve this shadow of pain that trailed her sister. Mew knew that it would have to be secret; Haku would not approve. But lately, Haku's words had no longer mattered as much to Mew, and if needed, she would go her own way. Their embrace was canceled, but Mew's hand lingered for a moment on her sister's arm, not entirely wanting to let her go.

As the hybrid rose, so did Mew, but she would remain on her legs for only moments. The other spoke, and Mew smiled warmly in response. Her face radiated her heart's contents; she would offer her sister the world, if that was what she needed. They were two, now; she did not have to be alone in her misery. Mew's greens saw a strange device in her sister's hand, and in the slow moments that followed she studied how it rose to point at her, and how it exploded into a cloud of reds and darkness. Or, perhaps it was not the world that shattered around her; perhaps it was herself. Certainly, her heart broke at that very moment, but she would not remember that stunning sensation of pain. The white female spun, as if dancing, slowly crashing into the ground and into the cold snow. Reds poured into the white substance and quickly outlined her head, and as the soft steps of her murderer slowly dissipated, Mew lay unconscious, pearly furs quickly turning pink and crimson. She never had been one to wear her heart on her sleeve.
