Apologies for length, SSWM 1036

When met again with his crazed eyes coloured with crimson, she felt the well known turmoil of upset stomach acid churn in her abdomen. A light quiver ran through her as her hackles rose and fluffed up her elegant figure some, but the girl’s true fear was banished from her body right now. She needed strength and determination. She had realized now that it was in her right to separate this man from life. He was not an inch better than her half-brother and if Gabriel could go to war because of his mother then Halo had certain rights too in how to deal with her troubles. She had felt her soul wither when she had seen the form next to Gabriel de le Poer; so close to the circle of the family she cared most about and adored. It was not fair, but she would no longer have to deal with her cowardice and split inner voice any more soon. She found him different and less feral, but the eyes were always the same with the call for blood always present. Disgust and hurt roared within her chest, but her face was smooth like untouched water; not a ripple of her inner turmoil was revealed for him to snicker and gloat. This great calm – that was really nothing but an illusion and perhaps only part shock that she was intending to go ahead and slay one of Kaena’s most loved children – was all that kept her in her place when nothing else was where it was supposed to be. Samael had injured her far worse than anyone ever could and he did not even see this. Or perhaps he did not care despite feeling such rage to know that the same thing had been done to his mother by another male. A Hypocrite and a bastard was all her uncle was.

His disgusting grin and cruel words made her copper coated ears twitch and fall back against silky locks of dark hair painted black in the scarce light. He wanted to mock her, but Halo was not the same little girl as she had been back that day. Perhaps she would have been had it not been for his actions, but that was not a plus at all. While she was improving in her position as Gabriel’s Hydra, there was still so much wrong in her life that she could not believe that she would be able to go on much longer. Halo’s half sister had died because of Samael’s doings and several more would. He had destroyed his world and he was smiling at her well knowingly about this. What happened to the purity of the Lykois? He had made her believe they were special, but such special treatment that had been granted to her was not of the kind she would let others go through. No one deserved that. The hand holding the sword slowly moved backwards as she took a step closer and attempted to get a better look at the bastard that had ruined everything. The male wolf had not deserved to die, though she had too leaped after an innocent loner not too long ago and cut deep into flesh that would not be able to forget the action after healed. He would carry scars on his body just like Halo carried them in her soul. She was too young though to be ruined for life and her anger was great because she feared that this was what she was; forever ruined and unable to go on with a life worth living.

Lips slowly twisted to reveal brilliantly white fangs at her larger uncle. He knew nothing of her true nature. He only saw what he wished to see and what he saw were twisted images and a truth altered by his brain. He thought he was born with a purpose in life and he thought he had wings. He thought he was special, but he was not. Halo would not cry. She loathed him for being Kaena Lykoi’s child when he obviously did not deserve it. He should not be allowed to be part of the family when he so easily could destroy members of it without a second thought. It was obvious that he held no regrets in life and he dared to smile at her and think back to his past actions without seeing the crime shine out in it. Halo did and she could never let it go. She had asked Kaena whether or not such things ever healed. The older female had answered and said that she believed it did. Time could heal every wound. This was incorrect and right now Halo thought the hurt was worse than ever and she would never be able to put this behind her – at least not until she had punished the puny bastard that had thought it was in his right to do such a horrible thing to a girl that until then had adored him. It had been her fault for failing to see the monster’s true face. She had been clueless and thought reality would be just like her vivid dreams where she was a warrior Lykoi. Half of her goals in life had been false and the other half had been destroyed by the man that had taken her innocence.

Ruby eyes gleamed darkly for a final moment now. She had nothing she wanted to say to the adult male in front of her, and so her exposed fangs were suddenly hidden away by the sweetest of smiles. The edge of the blade had pointed down towards the ground away from him until this moment, and now it danced into fluid motion in an elegant curve at the man. It danced upwards and to the left and she hoped to see a long line of red. The girl was no longer a clumsy beginner waving aimlessly with a sword. There was fluidness and control in her movement, and as the blade would reach Samael’s shoulder height it would instantly be withdrawn only to lash out again in an answering move to whatever Samael would come up with.
