we turn away to face the cold

ooc: a little short, I know. sorry D:

It was cold. That was a rather obvious thing. There was still some leftover snow remaining on the ground, the same white color as Xeris' fur as she leaned up against the cabin's exterior wall. Her golden eyes carefully watched the three small forms of her children as they pranced about in the snow, out for some exercise. Xeris had been careful to keep the pups close by the house now that the danger of war was looming overhead. Although she knew that it was unlikely for any of the Valley wolves to get too involved, she also knew how dangerously close Phoenix Valley was to Inferni territory.

Pendzez was out and about, probably doing some sort of Nuncio duty. The kids didn't really ask specifically where their father went--Xeris wouldn't have known the answer anyway--but they accepted that he had an important job to do. Xeris supposed that after the conflict settled down a bit, her mate would be able to spend more time with his family. But for now, she was content to take care of the children and help out as much as she could in the territory. Jefferson had mentioned a pup named Rio--one of Naniko's pups--and the white wolfess wondered when she'd see him. She hadn't been around the girl since first meeting Naniko a few months ago. It would be nice to see her, she supposed; her little three could use some playmates.
