The dinghy scraped ashore, the lighter-furred wolf crying out a howl and frantically waving its arms. Jacquez tilted his head curiously, drawing ever nearer to the odd pair. As they disembarked, he could see clearly that they were both small in stature for werewolves, one male, one female. He noted a telltale glimmer of metal along the male's ear - piercings, a fascination to the king - and that the excited female had not only pink streaks in her mane, but in her tailfur as well. How... quirky.

A wicked grin curved onto his muzzle, his dark eyes gleaming with rapt interest as he sized them up. They were more wet than dry. Had it been a difficult journey? He waved his one arm in acknowledgment to her greeting, waiting to get closer to the pair before he introduced himself. The surf was loud this time of day, crashing against the rocky shore and hissing as it retreated again. Jacquez liked the noise, but it was difficult to hear what the wolf was shouting - Orin Ta... something, and her brother... Niro, was it? Their names were palindromes of each other? They didn't look much like siblings. Perhaps they were adopted or something; it mattered not.

He spread his arm wide, striding up to introduce himself face to face. Before he could speak, though, a sly female voice cut in from behind him. He glanced indignantly over his shoulder, only slightly surprised to realize it was Firefly. It seemed she was always undermining his authority... He would be lenient today, though, since her sickening ordeal was still fresh in his memory. He still had mixed feelings about it, which was confusing to the simple-minded man -- had he been curious to see what they would be like? Scowling, he diverted his attention back to the wayward siblings. "Pleasure to meet you both, Orin and Niro, is it? I am Jacquez Trouillefou, le roi du Cour des Miracles," he lilted, the french words flowing effortlessly in his accent. They were a colorful little welcoming party, weren't they?
